Porta potties

Porta potty rental in Phoenix and Mesa

Standard portable toilets, the units most people call porta potties, go where there is no plumbing at all: job sites, park events, ballfields, and the far corner of a wedding venue. We help you work out how many, where each one sits, and how often they are serviced, and hand-wash stations and ADA-accessible units can join the order.

Watch for these signs

Where porta potties fit

  • A job site with no working restrooms, or work areas too far apart for one restroom location.
  • An event at a park, field, or open lot with no power or water to run a restroom trailer.
  • A wedding or party with a restroom trailer for guests that needs extra units for vendors, staff, or overflow.
  • A trail run, farm day, or community event where restrooms have to sit in more than one spot.

Our services

What we plan with you

  • How many units, from your headcount, hours, and the county minimum that applies
  • Where each unit sits: level ground, out of walkways, and reachable by the service truck
  • Hand-wash stations beside the toilets, and ADA-accessible units where they are needed
  • A servicing schedule for rentals longer than a day
  • Delivery before people arrive and pickup when the job or event is over

Your options

Porta potty or restroom trailer?

Both are restrooms you rent. Which one fits comes down to the site, the people, and the schedule.

01

Power and water at the site

A standard portable toilet is self-contained, so it can stand where there is nothing to connect to. A restroom trailer usually needs power and sometimes water; we confirm the exact needs for the selected trailer before delivery.

02

Who will use them

Crews and ballfield crowds need restrooms that are quick to use and easy to service. Wedding guests and corporate clients may expect the indoor feel of a trailer. Some events use both: a trailer by the reception and porta potties for vendors and staff.

03

Hours and crowd size

More people per unit means more frequent servicing. For a long day or a long project, settle the number of units and the servicing schedule together, not one after the other.

04

Spread-out sites

Maricopa County wants job-site toilets on or within 200 feet of each work area, and toilets for a public gathering within 200 feet of it. Small groups of porta potties in several spots can meet that where one trailer at the gate cannot.

Planning the work

What affects your quote

  • Number of units, including hand-wash stations and ADA-accessible units
  • Rental length and how often the units are serviced
  • Delivery address and access for the service truck
  • One placement spot or several across the site

What the county calls a chemical toilet

Maricopa County's Environmental Health Code calls a standard portable toilet a chemical toilet: "a toilet having a watertight, impervious pail or tank containing a chemical solution placed immediately beneath the seat or urinal and a pipe or conduit connecting the riser with the tank." The code says chemical toilets must be kept clean and sanitary, with toilet paper available at all times.

The county's FAQ explains the blue liquid in the tank: it is "a solution of sodium hydroxide or other approved chemical," added "to prevent the waste from turning septic and creating objectionable odors." The same FAQ says the units "shall be emptied often enough to prevent overflowing, creation of an unsanitary condition, a health hazard or nuisance." That is why we set servicing from how many people use each unit and for how long.

How many porta potties do you need?

Start from the legal floor. In Maricopa County, a construction, alteration, repair, or razing project needs at least one toilet per 20 persons on the project, and a public gathering without adequate permanent restrooms needs at least one toilet per 100 persons in attendance, or what the Environmental Health Officer requires. OSHA's construction table in 29 CFR 1926.51(c) counts employees separately.

Treat those numbers as minimums. Long hours, food and drink, and crowds that arrive at once all call for more units or more frequent servicing. The restroom rental planning guide and the construction toilet guide walk through both rules with examples.

Tell us the address, dates, hours, and how many people will use the restrooms at the busiest time.

  2. 2

We recommend the number of porta potties, hand-wash stations, and accessible units, and confirm placement and servicing.

  3. 3

The units are delivered and set in place before your crew or guests arrive.

  4. 4

Servicing follows the agreed schedule, and the units are picked up when you are done.

Common questions

Before you book

Is a porta potty the same as a portable toilet?

Yes. Porta potty is the everyday name for a standard portable toilet: a single, self-contained unit with its own waste tank. A restroom trailer is a different rental, a towed unit with indoor-style restrooms that usually needs power and sometimes water. We confirm the exact needs for the selected trailer before delivery.

Do you rent porta potties for weddings and parties?

Yes. Porta potties work for vendor and staff restrooms, for overflow beside a restroom trailer, or as the restrooms at a casual outdoor party. Share the guest count and venue and we will suggest a mix.

Can I add hand-wash stations and ADA-accessible units?

Yes. Hand-wash stations and ADA-accessible portable restrooms can be added to a porta potty order. Their pages cover where they go and how many to plan.

Do you rent shower trailers?

No. We rent restroom trailers, porta potties, hand-wash stations, and ADA-accessible portable restrooms, but not shower trailers. If your event or job site needs showers, book those with a shower trailer provider; we can still supply the restrooms.
